Tips For Hiring A Plumber
Check with the BBB: Before signing a contract with a company, you should take the time to check the companies Business Review with your BBB first. Is the company BBB Accredited, what is their rating have they had complaints, how did they respond to those complaints?
Ask for Recommendations: Family and friends are always a great place to start when looking to hire a company. Who have they used, what were their experiences like, were they satisfied with the work?
Look at Credentials: Ask the company to provide written verification that they are licensed and have the proper insurance. If more than one plumber is working then ask for license and insurance proof for all involved in the project..
Get Estimates: Consumers should always get at least three written estimates for any work that they need doing. Compare the prices carefully and remember the lowest price might not always be the best price. Is the plumber charging per job or by the hour?
Get References: Ask the company to provide references and take the time to check them out. Ask questions such as: was the job done on schedule, were there hidden costs not on the estimate, what was the quality of the work like, were any after repairs completed in a timely manner?
Get A Written Contract: The contract should include: a description of the job, materials needed, the cost of the materials and labour, the start and finish date, any types of permits and inspections that may be needed and whose responsibility those are to get.. any verbal promises should also be written into the contract.
